Scholarship

APPLICATION DEADLINE:

The TF100+ Scholarship supports students undertaking strategically significant activities that advance the University’s development and long-term competitiveness. Funding is awarded in the following areas:

A) Public Engagement

  • representing the HUSS community and its values at an international level,
  • supporting the development and institutional integration of parasport,
  • contributing to the objectives of the Healthy Campus program,
  • supporting the mission of the SPIRIT Olympic Studies Research Centre,
  • and promoting sustainability-related initiatives;

B) Academic Activities

Focusing on the professional – primarily digital – advancement of sport science and teacher training in physical culture within higher education:

  • conducting research and preparing academic publications,
  • implementing innovative solutions, including the dissemination of artificial intelligence applications in line with the Student Requirements System, as well as developing new methodologies or technologies;

C) Development of Emerging or Non-Olympic Sports

National or international organizational and community-building activities that promote both the development of such sports and their integration into HUSS education.

The TF100+ Scholarship is open to students who:

  • are enrolled in a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or doctoral program (state-funded or self-financed; full time or part time) with active student status; and
  • carry out outstanding and innovative activities, aligned with the University’s strategic goals, in the areas of sport, academic achievement, and public engagement, thereby contributing to the University’s long-term success and competitiveness.

Applicants in Category A undertake to:

  • participate as a presenter and/or organizer in programs, events, and communication activities that showcase the University’s communal and professional values internationally;
  • initiate or actively contribute to activities that support parasport development and institutional integration;
  • actively engage in initiatives supporting the Healthy Campus program, including organizing or implementing health promotion activities, and contribute to sustainability-focused initiatives through innovative ideas, feasibility plans, independently organized programs, and awareness-raising activities;
  • actively participate in the activities and program organization of the SPIRIT Research Centre.

Applicants in Category B undertake to:

In the case of scientific activity:

  • conduct research under the supervision of an academic advisor during the scholarship period and make the results available to the University;
  • carry out additional research beyond the requirements of their studies;
  • publish at least one academic paper or obtain formal acceptance for publication, and present their research results at internal or external (national or international) conferences or professional events.

In the case of innovation activity:

  • actively participate in innovation processes and University-led innovation programs.

Applicants in Category C undertake to:

  • introduce their chosen emerging or non-Olympic sport to the University community during the scholarship period;
  • during this period organize programs, initiatives, and events through which:
  1. the sport is promoted both digitally and in-person within the University,
  2. students and staff can learn the rules of the sport in both theory and practice,
  3. opportunities for hands-on participation and competition are provided using University facilities,
  4. and the integration of the sport into HUSS education is supported.

Applications must be submitted via Neptun using the designated application form.

To be considered valid, applicants must upload the following document in PDF format:

  • the TF100+ Scholarship Application Form, including a detailed description of the activity for which funding is requested.

The application form must include:

  • a sufficiently detailed description of the activity to allow proper evaluation;
  • relevant references supporting the applicant’s work and enabling verification.

Only activities not supported by other funding sources are eligible.

Ineligibility

Applicants are not eligible if they:

  • fail to meet the requirements set out in this call; or
  • receive funding during the scholarship period for the same activity from another source, or receive another scholarship based on the same activity described in their application.

Application Deadline: 25 March 2026

Applications will be reviewed by a professional committee appointed by the Rector’s Office, which will determine the amount of funding awarded.

Successful applicants may receive up to HUF 100,000 per month for a period of 5 months, depending on the committee’s decision. Payments are made through the Neptun system.

Recipients must provide proof by 30 June 2026 that they have commenced the activity described in their application. Failure to do so will result in the suspension of further payments and exclusion from the next TF100+ Scholarship call.

By submitting the application, applicants commit to implementing the proposed activity and must submit the following documents to the Student Union no later than 31 August 2026:

  • a minimum 3-page report on the completed activity (required in all categories);
  • for public engagement activities: official certification of the activity;
  • for scientific or innovation activities: the submitted manuscript and proof of submission (e.g. confirmation email), or documentation confirming active participation in innovation programs;
  • for sport-related professional activities: official certification of the activity.
  1. Research supported by the scholarship may be related to academic requirements but must clearly constitute additional work beyond those requirements.
  2. A Hungarian or foreign-language scholarly article submitted to a national or international academic journal in connection with the approved research plan.
  3. Proof of publication may include a formal acceptance confirmation from the publisher/editor if publication has not yet occurred by the end of the scholarship period.
  4. Content introducing the sport must be created and published at least weekly within the University (in cooperation with and approval of the relevant organizational units).
  5. At least three such programs must be organized during the scholarship period, including at least one competitive event.
