Program overview
The Hungarian Diaspora Scholarship was created by the Hungarian Government for young people living in Hungarian diaspora communities outside Europe who want to study at a Hungarian university or college.
The goal of the program is to support your personal and professional growth through high-quality education in Hungary, while also helping you improve your Hungarian language skills and connect more deeply with your Hungarian heritage.
As a scholarship holder, you’ll gain competitive knowledge and practical skills that will help you succeed in your career and make a positive impact in your local community after graduation. You’ll also become part of a global network working to preserve Hungarian identity and strengthen the bonds between Hungary and diaspora communities worldwide.
Whether you want to develop your career, explore your heritage, or both – the Hungarian Diaspora Scholarship offers a unique opportunity to do it all.
While studying in Hungary, you’ll experience a country rich in culture, history, and tradition. You’ll also have the chance to improve your Hungarian, meet people from all over the world, and build memories that last a lifetime.

We strongly recommend that you reach out to these organisations or diplomatic missions at least 1-2 months before the application deadline to ensure you have enough time to request and receive the letter. If you are interested in this opportunity we encourage you to get familiar with the application procedure and general requirements HERE.
